Dental implants are substitutes made of titanium, bio-compatible material, which are surgically integrated in jaw bone, to serve as replacement for the natural teeth roots, as the carriers of the prosthetic substitute.

When placing the implant, the goal is to have direct bond between the outer surface of the implant and surrounding tissue for better integration, thus providing stabile support for the new tooth.
