What is with the pain?

Generally, placing implants is less aggressive than tooth extraction. The patients’ feedback is similar: “It did not hurt as much as I have expected!“

Placement of implants is performed with special instruments, which hold the level of discomfort low. Done under local anaesthesia, which prevents the feeling of pain during procedure.

Soon after, patient is free to go home. In next two to three days the swelling deflates.

Possible complications

Postoperative care is the most important factor in successful healing. Infections are possible if there is a lack of oral hygiene, soon after procedure or after.

Even though rarely, there is a possibility of implant rejection.

Similar to parodontose, there can be peri-implantitis; infection of soft than hard tissues around the implant.

Regular checkups!

Once or twice a year, patient should do the checking and RTG; implants and bone control, condition of soft tissue, oral hygiene, dental plaque and abrasion of the upper structure.

Patient holds the responsibility for the lasting of the implants!
