Dental implants: Sinus lift

Sinus lift (also called sinus augmentation or sinus elevation) is painless, routine procedure of lifting the bottom of the sinus. It’s preformed under local anaesthesia.

Placing implants demands certain volume of the bone. Sinus lift needs to be done if the loss of the tooth, in time, resulted with bone resorption. In the procedure artificial bone is added into sinus hole above the upper jaw.

Mostly, in the case if there is enough bone, it is done together with implant placement. In other cases, certain period for osseoinegration is necessary, and it lasts from six to nine months.
