"Perio" treatment: Gingivoplasty
Gingivoplasty is mostly used as an aesthetic procedure with intention of enhancing the harmony between the gingival line and the crown of teeth. (Pink aesthetic).
Digital Smile Design precedes the treatment.
Smile is designed from the visual analyses based on photos and video. Usually, first design is of the teeth. After having and ideal size and teeth position, gingival contours are easily seen. To have the process as accurate as possible, technician will make a model based on DSD measurements, which later will serve as guide for gingivoplasty procedure.
Micro-surgical procedure is the second phase.
Starting with outlining the new gingival lines, for the ginigiva will determine the new shape and the size of the teeth.
Initial healing lasts from 7 to 10 days. Yet, for the next work phase and full tissue recovery, we wait form 2 weeks to 9 months with more demanding cases.
Final phase of the treatments is prosthetics, teeth design.
