General information about dental ceramic veneers
Ceramic veneers are a thin layer of ceramic, which is bonded to the tooth structure. In aesthetic solutions they represent optimal choice for both the patient and the dentist.
Minimally invasive treatment option, which fully restores the natural shine and desired tooth shape.
Treatment description
Front surface of the tooth is prepared, after which veneers are made in dental lab on the model, from ceramic or porcelain.
Veneers are more conservative work than the crowns by the amount of tooth that needs to be prepared (usually by grinding), which is an advantage. However, compared to the crown, veneers are less resistant substitute for its thin structure.
Workflow
It is very important to understand that veneers are bonded on healthy teeth. If there is no need for conservative dentistry (repairs, endo) the whole process can be finished in few appointments.
- First appointment: All needed photos are taken, and we simulate the future smile with DSD – Digital Smile Design
- Second appointment: Tooth preparation, impression
- Final appointment: Bonding veneers, finished work
